Godly Girl Blog

How to be a Godly girl in a not so Godly world!

Hello, everyone! My name is Natalie and I am a fifteen-year-old girl who loves Jesus! I talk about multiple different topics on this blog, but they all are about living a Godly life as a teen girl! If you would like to contact me, you can email me at godlygirlblog2@gmail.com, I would love to give you advice if you need or just hear from you! Until then, I will be praying for all you beautiful people!<3

To stay close to God you have to invite Him into your every day life. No matter what you’re doing.

I’m not saying you have to think of Him every second, just don’t do something and think it has nothing to do with Him.

To invite God into your day, spend time with Him every morning. When you first wake up, thank God for another day (I try to do that–honestly I forgot sometimes). Then, do a little Bible reading or morning devotion.

Science has proven that when you read your Bible four times a week loneliness goes down 30%, bitterness goes down 43%, anger goes down 32%, alcoholism goes down 42%, and watching pornography goes down 60%.

Every morning I read a short devotion–right now I’m doing Coffee Shop Devos by Tessa Emily Hall–that also has a short journaling prompt.

Throughout the day I pray at random moments for random things. When you pray, it doesn’t always have to be a long, extravagant prayer. It could be short.

When I’m at work,I’ll get super tired or overwhelmed or I can feel a migraine coming. Whenever that happens, I always pray.

Whether it’s a, “God, give me energy to get through the day” or “help me to slow down and do one thing at a time.”

Sometimes, I’ll get the random urge to pray for someone and I’ll say a quick blessing for them.

Just talk to God throughout your day.

To end the day, I do bed time prayers. That’s when I go through my prayer list. I have people or things I pray for before bed and then I talk to God until I fall asleep.

Falling asleep while praying might make you feel bad, but I heard something once that helped me:

If you ever fall asleep praying, don’t feel bad. It’s just like when your kids fall asleep in your arms.

Now, I don’t have kids, but I babysit a lot so I’ve had kids fall asleep in my arms and I don’t get frustrated with them–instead I’m happy they can find comfort in my arms.

Sometimes, you won’t feel like doing any of that. You’ll want to skip your morning devotion or your prayers. Skipping them once is no big deal, but you skip them once, then it turns into twice, three times, four… Then you just don’t do them anymore.

I urge you to continue to do your prayers and devotions even if you don’t feel like it. Just pray short prayers, take it slow. Just do something. If you don’t feel like spending time with God, someone–the enemy–is trying to take you away from Him. Don’t let him do that.

This week, start getting in the habit of doing morning devotions and bedtime prayers. I guarantee you will feel so much better after a few days.

“Put these things into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.” -Philippians 4:9
